— What we did —

The Creative Workshop located in Dania Florida is building this Allied Swallow as if we were back in 1952. Photos show the as-delivered body, the MG TD chassis we sourced (along with matching number XPAG engine) and the body roughly placed on the chassis. The Brigade worked with The Creative Workshop to 3D scan this original fiberglass body
and generated a highly-accurate digital asset in order to re-design the coupe body shell into a cabrio racer.

— 3D Scanning —

Using a Peel 2, 3D scanner our team was able to obtain precise modeling data from the cars surfaces and parts . @3dscan_to_cad was onsite to scan the body and capture measurements within blank desires of accuracy. Millions of data points are recorded into the software in realtime to generate a dense point cloud. These individual points are then processed from the scanning software which produces a rough mesh of the car including all the critical mounting points that helps us locate how the body attaches to the chasis. We can then further refine and manipulate the digital models shape in order to achieve a desired style for fabrication.

— Digital Modeling —

Brigade imported the point cloud data and base mesh prepared by Additive Restoration in order to guide the modeling process to clearly define the cars shapes and details. In order to achieve the highest quality model to generate an exact replica of the physical car the digital sculpting process can be time-consuming and very meticulous.
